Join Pamela and friends for a week-long gathering at Camp Owaissi on beautiful Lake Okanagan in British Columbia's Okanagan Valley. Camp Owaissi is about 5 hours from Vancouver, 7 hours from Calgary and Seattle.
The retreat starts on Friday evening, June 22 (please do not arrive before 4:00 pm), and ends at noon on Friday, June 29. There will be yoga in the morning and satsang twice a day, and ample opportunities for swimming and kayaking, or hiking into the mountains nearby.
Camp Owaissi is an exceptionally beautiful place - private, tranquil and quiet. Accommodation is rustic. Everyone will need to bring their own bedding. Some participants will also need to bring mattresses, and will be contacted at registration. The accommodation is the same price for everyone - small room, bunkhouse or camping. Tenting, campers, trailers and motorhomes are welcome.
Another option is to stay at the next place along the lake, the Lake Okanagan Resort, walking distance from Camp Owaissi. All rooms are equipped with kitchen/kitchenette. Please call lake Okanagan Resort directly at 1-800-663-3273 for reservations.
Then there are the local B&Bs - often booked up well in advance as this is a popular summer vacation area. If you like the B&B option try Kelowna Tourism for a selection. Camp Owaissi is about 45 minutes from the nearest airport at Kelowna, 20 minutes from downtown Kelowna and an hour from Penticton.
We will have our own caterer providing delicious organic vegetarian food. The single rate for accommodation, plus two meals a day (brunch and supper) for the full seven days, is the same as last year - $450 Canadian.
The satsang fee, which is additional to and separate from the food and accommodation fee, is US$350. (Couples pay US$550, under-25s US$150.) This payment needs to be made in US$. People with US bank accounts can pay with US$ checks. Others can pay with US dollars or with Canada Post US$ money orders or US$ travelers checks. Payment with a credit card via Paypal is also possible if the payer adds the 3% commission. Ask for the account info.
To register and reserve your place, email tonyk@sonic.net, with a contact email and/or phone number. Then send a deposit of US$100 by check or US$ money order made out to Fellowship of the Heart to Fellowship of the Heart, 6494 Dry Creek Road, Napa, CA 94558, USA. Please write "Camp Owaissi" on your check. (Or email and ask about using Paypal.) The balance can be paid on arrival.
Driving north on Hwy 97 take the Westside Road exit about 4 kilometers past West Kelowna. Driving south on Hwy 97 the Westside road exit is about 2 kms after the Lake Okanagan Floating Bridge. Travel north beside the lake for 15.2 kms and turn right into Camp Owaissi. Note: There's now a new Westside Road intersection on Hwy 97, so it has changed since last year.
