Pamela and friends return to Luccock Park in Paradise Valley, Montana, just north of Yellowstone National Park, for satsang, yoga, mountain hiking, and much rest and relaxation. Luccock Park is a well-established and popular family camp about 14 miles south of Livingston, located in a large natural meadow surrounded by virgin timber that backs up to mountains rising to ten and eleven thousand feet.
There will be lots of opportunities for hiking and nature walks, so participants are advised to bring fannypacks or daypacks, hiking boots, water bottles, sunscreen and binoculars.
And bring your yoga mat.
Also available nearby are horseback riding and river rafting.
The camp can accommodate 200 people in 14 cabins. While none of the cabins offer single person rooms with private bathrooms, we expect the number of people coming to the retreat will allow each participant a degree of privacy - perhaps sharing a large room with one or two others. Bathroom facilities are separate. Cabins have beds with mattresses, but no sheets, pillows or blankets, so be sure to bring a sleeping bag or whatever you need to keep warm. Luccock Park is now offering bed roll rentals for $5 per night. This consists of mattress pad, set of twin sheets, two blankets and a pillow. Nights are around 50 degrees. Those wanting greater privacy are advised to contact Pine Creek Cabins, a couple of miles down the road, which has cabins with bathrooms and kitchens (406-222-3628), or find a hotel in Livingston, fifteen minutes drive away. Paradise Valley is a popular summer destination, so reservations need to be made early.
The nearest airport is at Bozeman, Montana (Gallatin Field), about 45 miles away, served by United, Delta, Northwest and Horizon with connections through Denver, Salt Lake City, Seattle and Minneapolis.
The retreat starts on Sunday evening, July 15, and ends at noon on Sunday, July 22.
The 2012 retreat price has yet to be determined.
